IPL: Day 2….and the term of the day is…..
Web 2.0!
Wow, it’s amazing how many times I’ve heard the term Web 2.0 used in less than 48 hours and it’s quite interesting how it has been applied. So it got me thinking (which is always scary ; ) is there a proper definition for Web 2.0?
After a little digging, I came across this thorough description. What stood out for me is as follows:
Given the lack of set standards as to what “Web 2.0″ actually means, implies, or requires, the term can mean radically different things to different people.
So I guess that kind of answers my question, however, if you want to get in on the comparison game between Web 1.0 and Web 2.0, check this out.
Overall, day 2 went extremely well. Jennifer and I worked through some excellent Web 2.0 concepts ; ) for our Serious Game Breach of Contract and some of the highlights involved:
1) Sitting down and working through the high level game scenarios / concepts
2) Discussions surrounding the sensitivity of the Aboriginal material and how to use actual events in an engaging/respectful manner
3) Meeting with Marty Avery of What If? and Michael Ede of RIE Inc. to go through our business plan and game concept (which really helped us narrow the project scope even further). Thanks to Marty and Michael!
4) Enjoying the Banff Centre buffet at every meal….I think it’s time to go for a run…..”Exercise 2.0″ anyone?
